I would modify that question to instead ask "Is Google making us lazy?" The internet has given us the luxury of instant gratification. These immediate results can be addicting and we start expecting things in our lives to be just as instant. Becaus of this instant gratifiction, we have become more impatient and focusing can be difficult. Laziness seems to be the root of the resulting stupidity.
I disagree with the other Rachel's comments, as I feel that it is not only the inherent laziness that comes from the usage of Google and the Internet. We have become accustomed to this split-second response, and our brains have been programmed over time to expect the small amount of time necessary to comprehend a text. Google does have its advantages, yet our brains have closed off long-term devotion to a text.
