Overall, I think that the web has definitely changed the way that we receive information. It allows to quickly browse and gain all of the information we need. However, I think it is a bit extreme to say that the google is ruining our ability to read longer texts. In a situation where you are concerned about details and need the information from a longer texts, you will most certainly be able to focus your attention and get the reading done. Also, when you find a certain text interesting, you are going to be more apt to throughly read it and stay focused.
