Is google making me stupid?

I've been using google as long as I can remember and I use it for pretty much anything I have a question about, whether that be Shakespearean literature or what happened to Steve from Blue's Clues (as I admittedly googled last night). It's even become a verb and has it's own wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_%28verb%29 in case you were curious like me). I don't necessarily think google is making me stupid because there are endless amounts of information that are easily accessible. It just makes finding the information you need easier and faster. Some complaints of google would be that not all of the websites that come up in google search have accurate information but I think that's up to the searcher to be able to distinguish the reliable sources from the unreliable ones. There are easy ways to identify the credibility of a website and if you're not sure what exactly those are, go ahead and google "credibility of a website" and you'll see hundreds of checklists. See? You're using google right now to expand your knowledge and it's not making you stupid, it's making life easier and saving you time!
